HOOF CAST 2 INCH COMFORTMIX

COMFORTMIX:

Mustad ComfortMix is a range of hoof repair and pad materials that allows you to solve hoof problems and restore the horses hoof which is distributed through the Mustad group. The range offers an extensive list of hoof materials to allow farriers to repair the hoof, glue on shoes and create instant horse shoes and extensions. From these products you will find materials to promote growth, eliminate thrush, protect and support the hoof, and prevent bruising.

COMFORTMIX HOOF CAST:

Fibreglass casting tape for hoof reconstruction, supporting poor wall integrity and also aiding in laminitis.

» 2 inch (5cm x 3.6m)
» 3 inch (7.5cm x 3.6m)

CASTING DIRECTIONS:

» Dress hoof as normal. Fit shoe to shape allowing for additional thickness of casting tape.

» Prepare outer hoof wall with rasp or alternatively sanding block or buffer. Additional cleaning is recommended with denatured alcohol or methylated spirit.

» Apply acrylic adhesive to outer wall ensuring to use additional in the heel area, this will assist in locking the tape in.

» Remove casting tape from the protective bag and proceed to wrap the hoof being careful not to tape above the coronary band or above the heel bulbs, approx. 6 rotations will use up half the roll. Allowing for two hooves per roll.

» Dampen cast with a soaked sponge or spray bottle (this will activate the cast) then proceed to wrap with cling wrap. Place hoof on ground.

» Proceed to second hoof and repeat the process. When completed, the first cast will be ready to have shoe nailed on. Clipped or unclipped shoes can be applied.
